Fall Looks – Huckberry

So now that Labor Day has come and gone, we’re packing away the seersucker. Some folks are putting away the white jeans (some aren’t). College football arrived in all it’s glory this past weekend, and the NFL is on it’s way in just two days. Pretty soon the leaves will be changing… blah blah blah. Fall is coming.

So here at D.o.P., I’ve decided to highlight my own personal fall style in a series of posts using single brands/online shops for each one. First off is new friend of the blog, Huckberry. For the first time in years, I’m not required to wear tailored clothing to work. I’ve been able to lean on the casual side while on the job, so Huckberry’s aesthetic lines right up with mine as of late. So without further ado, here’s a look I’d rock this fall… all courtesy of Huckberry. What from them will you be wearing this fall?

The Rotation: Fall Boots

Fall is coming. We are a mere three weeks away from college football. A mere four weeks away from NFL football. A mere six weeks away from the Autumnal Equinox. Time to get your mind right and your feet set. It’s almost time to break out the boots. Here’s what I’m planning on slip my feet into this fall…

Oak Street Bootmakers – Color 8 Trench Boot with Dainite Sole: These will take a beating this fall.

Clarks Desert Boots in Olive Suede: Nothing wrong with a good ole fashioned pair of desert boots.

Dan Post Mignon Leather Cowboy Boots: I was born in Texas, raised in Tennessee… Of course I wear cowboy boots.

Justin Classic Roper Boots: I was born in Texas, raised in Tennessee… Of course I wear roper boots.

Blundstone Original 500 Boots: For when the weather ain’t cooperating.

What’s your rotation looking like?

– Fall Endorsement: New Balance 565 –

With Fall starting to roll in and football season in full swing, I’ve been rocking these New Balance’s quite a bit.  Why do I associate these shoes with fall and football season?  Well because they match up quite nicely to the colors of my alma mater, the University of Mississippi: Navy with red, grey and white accents.  Hotty Toddy!

I’ve been wearing them jeans, chinos and especially with slim sweat pants.  Good for running errands, walking the dog… everyday stuff.  Also good for showing some school spirit.  Forward Rebels!  This colorway is exclusive to JD Sports.  They’ve also got some other great options, including some killer offerings from Nike too.

Mixing it up for fall…

As fall is almost upon us, I’m beginning to look closely at my fall wardrobe (as I’m sure many of you are, as well).  This year, more so than ever, I’m really looking forward to mixing different elements together.  Now, what the hell do I mean by that?  Well, to put it simply: I’m looking forward to bringing different textures together, bringing new and old things together, bringing classic staples together with pieces that wouldn’t wear everyday, etc.  Whether it be my new LBM jacket mixed with a Timex I got when I was 11, or some nice texture from my tweed trousers and an oxford cloth shirt, or even throwing on some intense color like my burnt orange Patagonia fleece pullover or some cranberry colored chinos (not to be worn together).  These are things I’m looking forward to wearing this fall…

Should be a perfect way to approach the old fall wardrobe…

I can haz new fall shoez?!?

Pardon the meme-ish post title… But in keeping with my trend of only wearing a few different pairs of good shoes, I would like to carry that act over into the fall.  Problem is, I still need to purchase some of these new fall kicks.  I still will get plenty of use out of my Edward Green loafers and my brown wingtips, but I need a bit more.  So think of this post as what I will be picking up throughout the fall months.  On my list are a pair of boots, a pair of suede saddle shoes, and a pair “blogger shoes” from ROTM (a.k.a the sand suede double monks they are planning on releasing).  I’m lucking out because my beautiful fiancée is giving me a pair of Indy boots for my birthday at the end of the month, so that takes care of the boots.  I’ll probably grab a pair of Walk-Over saddle shoes to get my fill of that style…

First Look: Brooks Brothers Fall 2011

As July comes to a close, the heat of summer seems to be beating down on us with an unrelenting fury.  So natural, everyone is starting to think of the cooler weather of fall, myself included.  If you aren’t, then Brooks Brothers will try their best to remind that fall is only a couple months away with their Fall Lookbook.  The highlights of the collection, for me, include an awesome “fun” shirt, an even better “fun” jacket, and a great looking Fair Isle shawl/mock sweater.  There’s also a pair of wool cargos that could be cool after a quick taper job… Below are a few of my favorite looks.

Another fine job by Brooks Brothers… looking perfect, guys!
