Billy Reid Fall/Winter 2012 Runway Show at NYFW

Now I won’t be covering much of anything going on at New York Fashion Week for a few reasons.  Number one, I’m not there and the folks that are there are doing a better job than I’d be able to do.  Number two, I’m usually not ever a fan of looks put together for a runway show because they are for just that, a show.  But if you’ve been a reader here at Dreams of Perfection for any length of time, you know I’m not going to pass up a chance to cover my favorite designer out there, Billy Reid.  While my fanboy status may be quite evident, I say this as objectively as possible: Billy Reid hit it out of the park on this one.  The collection is right in line with the “heirloom quality” he always strives for, and is filled with luxurious outerwear and handsome plaid suits.  While all the fall colors everyone expects to be there is present throughout the collection, there is also the unexpected splash of colors, like muted lilac.  While the photos below seem to be the majority of the fall/winter collection, they are all my favorite looks.  All photos are from the Billy Reid Facebook page.

This collection is the definition of perfect.

  1. Love how Reid has avoided the skinny suit trend for years now. He shies away even from a thick cuff. The collection has a more northern feel about it than earlier ones. Opinion on that?
