Season for Giving: Books

Giving a stylish gift like clothing or an accessory to someone is a great idea.  But, gifts of the intellectual kind are almost always better.  Books are a great option as a present this time of year.  It can be very personal (say, a first edition of a favorite author), or it can be less so (like a cookbook).  The selection of books one can choose from can seem pretty endless.  It’s always best to keep a person’s interest in mind.  Below is a list a few of my friends, and even myself, I know would appreciate…

Bacon: A Love Story by Heather Lauer, $9.45

Photographs inspired by the rap music that once inspired me by Paul Labonte, $15

Take Ivy by H. Hasegawa, S. Ishizu, T. Kurosu and photos by T. Hayashida, $16.47

Autobiography of Mark Twain, Vol. 1, $19.22

Someone Stole the Cornbread from My Dressing by Elizabeth Heiskell and Susanne Reed, $14.93

Signed Limited First Edition of William Faulkner’s Pulitzer Prize Winning A Fable, $3500

Books are another example of a perfect gift.  Sign your name on the inside cover with the date so they’ll remember it forever (except for that Faulkner book… put that in your safe).
